About the club
The Hartford Yacht Club was incorporated on June 26, 1895. The original club sat on the East Hartford side of the Connecticut River, near the Founders and Bulkeley bridges. Today we’re on Tryon Street at the Glastonbury/Portland border.
We are a “working club”: every member helps keep the docks, building and grounds in shape through work parties, and joins one of the committees that run the club. And we ask that everyone come and enjoy the food, friends and fun at our regular social events.
Amenities
A waterfront clubhouse with a full kitchen, bathrooms, big-screen TV, WiFi, pool, foosball and shuffleboard tables, and a lounge with a fireplace. Outside there’s deck and riverside seating, picnic tables, and the fire pit that draws a crowd most warm summer nights.
Members can rent the clubhouse for private parties.
An excellent paved launch ramp that handles boats up to 42 feet, with temporary docks for tying up while you load and unload, and parking for cars and trailers.
Ramp access is by launch pass.
26 freshwater slips with power and water, for boats up to 35 feet with a 12-foot beam. Slips go to members by seniority and are in high demand; most new members are offered one after 1–3 seasons.

Membership
All club sign-ups and payments are handled securely through Zeffy.
FAQ
Although we have slips, moorings and a launch ramp for our members, we are not a marina. We’re a working club: members work together to maintain the club and handle most of what a marina would do. We’re also a social club, with events throughout the year that bring members together.
Membership includes access to the club and its property, and invitations to club events. It does not include the boat ramp, moorings or slip fees.
Slip pricing depends on your boat’s length and whether you need electricity or have A/C aboard. See the slip, launch pass and mooring form for current rates.
Usually there’s a waiting list, and it may take a season or two. In the meantime, our boat ramp and trailer parking make it easy to trailer your boat.
Our slips take boats up to 35 feet. Larger boats can tie up at the end of our dock for transient visits.
Follow the four steps in “How to join” above. If you’d like a slip or mooring, the dock master will tell you whether one is open this season or add you to the waiting list.

Active members can rent the clubhouse for personal events, as long as other members can still use the club. Pay the rental fee online, then check with the commodore that there are no conflicting events.
